The Milkmaid

Early in the morn
The milk maid fair
Has no time
To comb or braid her hair
She hurries somehow
To milk the cow
In the dairy farm
She works forlorn
Making cream and sweet
For children to eat
And fetch some dime
To feed her own
Like the mother cow
Tries somehow
To keep her milk half
For her young calf
Yet she walks from farm to farm
Keeping herself calm
With her simple charm
Just waiting to meet
Her children sweet!

A bride to be

A bride to be
Anxious she may be
Of  the man she would marry
Would he be  a reason of worry
Of how life would be after this?
Is it bliss or near miss
Like blowing him a kiss
Would she be his?
Will it be like a dream
You wake up with a scream?
How will be the stranger
And family members
She will have to deal with?
Will she be a prisoner
In the new home
She must call her own?
Or she would be free?
Life is like a game of dice
A match of fire and ice
Would it be paradise
Or a path paved with lies?
Whatever may be
The events of the night
There is always light!

The Rhythm of Rain

In the humid heat
No one is upbeat
Life is dripping away
In the sweat of the day
Wish-wish-wish
The summer would go away!
And then you feel
The change in the wind
Whizzing by my ear
Blowing out the sun's glow
And the light goes out simmering slow
As clouds come near
Whoosh-whoosh hush-hush!

And then you hear the thunder
And you wonder
At earth’s new beat
Drip drip-drip
Pit pat pit
The rhythm of rain!
Like a refrain!

Like the tick tock tick of a clock
Plip-plop-plip at the dock
My flip-flops begin to talk
My anklets jingle as I walk
Tip tap tip in the rhythm of dance
Waiting for a chance!
I can feel the air zip-zip in my hair
And the rain sprays drip-drip on my face
I can feel the chills under my skin
My  feet taps to rhythm within
I can see the change in the wind chimes and windmills

The trees jig round to the sound
Leaves  move to the beat, spell bound
I can hear the sound of wheels
Skidding down the wet lane
Splashing of rain at the window pane
And the whip-whip of wind shields
Whipping the car screens!

Rebirth

Have you ever heard
of rebirth?
Like the seed of a flower
is reborn into a flower
of another family tree
How does it break free
from its old root?
And where does it shoot?
What celestial power
 helps it to hover
and sow the seeds
How  it come into the world
and how it may uncurl
Why doesn't anybody heeds
to their old needs?

A year has gone by

A year has gone by
Like the blink of an eye
Are you still there?
Do you have any memory
of me?
Can you hear and see me?
Are you near?
Where did you disappear?
You left no trace!
When will you reappear?
I wish l could see your face
Give you a loving embrace
And follow you on toe
How would I know
That you still care
About how I fare!
My tears have dried
You know how I cried
When the wind blew you away
And the ocean began to sway
And wiped you out of  earth's surface
But tidal waves always resurface!
Can't accept your invisibility
 It is difficult
to feel your entity
Wish l could see you
By some  abominable occult
But what  is the use to persue
an insatiable result
I think of you every day
In every words I say
Wish l could find you
Wish to remind you
And relive old days with you
Can't believe in the ways of the world
how cruelly it  unfurls!
When I wake
At days break
With a scream
Hoping all this was a bad dream
That I didn't loose you
Realizing that this was not true
I weep wishing to see you
Atleast in my sleep!
